Terms of use

These terms apply to your use of the LaserCrafts website and any enquiry submitted through our contact page. By browsing the site or placing an order, you agree to follow these terms and the instructions given for custom work, delivery and payment.

1. Using the Website and Contact Form

The website is provided by Astros Marketing (Pty) Ltd on behalf of LaserCrafts for general information, product viewing and enquiry submission. You may use it to request details about laser-cut wooden gifts, signs, decor and related services for homes, weddings, shops and corporate work across Somerset West, Stellenbosch, Cape Town, Paarl, Hermanus and other South African areas served by courier.

You must not use the site in any way that may damage it, interrupt access, or interfere with the way enquiries are received and processed. If you submit information through the contact form, you confirm that the details are true, current and supplied by you with authority to proceed.

2. Quotes, Orders and Payment Terms

All quotes are based on the information supplied in the enquiry, including wording, size, quantity, finish and delivery location. Final pricing may change if measurements, materials or artwork are altered after approval. Custom pieces are made to order and may require a deposit before work starts.

  • Quotes are valid for the period stated on the quote or, if no period is stated, for a reasonable time subject to material availability.
  • Work only begins once payment terms have been accepted and any required deposit has cleared.
  • Orders are confirmed only after written approval of the design details and final price.
  • Production schedules can shift during load shedding, supplier delays or courier disruptions.

3. Custom Work, Proofs and Approvals

LaserCrafts produces personalised items to the specifications approved by the client. This includes names, dates, logos, layered elements, engraving text and mounting or assembly instructions. Please check spellings, measurements and layout carefully before approving a proof, because approved artwork will be used as supplied.

If you request a sample or prototype, it is intended to confirm the general design direction and may differ slightly from the final item. Natural timber may show grain variation, tone differences and small marks, which are part of the material and not faults. On coastal orders, especially in places like Strand or Gordon's Bay, minor surface care may be needed due to humidity.

4. Content, Artwork and Intellectual Property

All website text, product descriptions, images, layouts, design files and compiled content remain the property of LaserCrafts or its licensors unless agreed otherwise in writing. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute or use this material for commercial purposes without permission.

  • If you supply logos, artwork or wording, you confirm that you have the right to use them.
  • You agree that LaserCrafts may refuse any design that is unlawful, defamatory, offensive or infringes another party's rights.
  • Approved production files may be retained for repeat orders, although ownership of the final design remains subject to any written agreement.

5. Delivery, Collection and Risk

Orders can be collected from the Somerset West base or sent by courier to destinations across the Western Cape and nationwide. Delivery timeframes are estimates only and depend on production volume, route planning and courier capacity. Orders sent to Stellenbosch, Cape Town, Paarl, Hermanus, Durbanville or other delivery areas may take longer during peak periods or public holidays.

Risk in the goods passes once the order is collected, signed for or handed to the courier, as applicable. Please inspect parcels on arrival and report visible damage or shortages promptly so that we can assess the matter. Packaging is prepared with care, but once a parcel leaves our premises we cannot control third-party handling.

6. Limitations, Care and Practical Use

Wood is a natural product and can react to heat, sunlight, moisture and uneven storage. You should keep engraved and cut timber items away from direct water, open flames and prolonged exposure to damp conditions. Any care instructions supplied with the order should be followed to preserve the finish and appearance.

To the extent allowed by South African law, LaserCrafts and Astros Marketing (Pty) Ltd are not liable for indirect loss, loss of profit, business interruption or damage caused by misuse, incorrect installation, unauthorised alterations or failure to follow care instructions. This does not exclude liability where the law says it cannot be excluded.

7. Changes to These Terms and Contact for Queries

These terms may be updated from time to time to reflect changes in services, delivery arrangements, payment processes or legal requirements. The version published on the website at the time of your enquiry or order will apply unless another written agreement has been made.

If you have a question about these terms, or need clarification before placing an order, please use the enquiry form on the contact page. We will respond with the information needed to proceed, subject to production capacity and current lead times.

  • Continued use of the website means you accept the then-current terms.
  • If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining terms will still apply.
  • Any dispute will be handled under the laws of South Africa.
